We’re pleased to announce that the Chimuara-Nacala (Phase II and III) transmission project will now be known as LTEC.
LTEC stands for Linha de Transporte de Energia Chimuara-Nacala and will serve as the project’s official brand name.
Launched in 2024, LTEC is a landmark project that will boost electricity transmission between central and northern regions of Mozambique. We are developing the project in partnership with national utility Electricidade de Moçambique, and it has received strong support from international investors including the IFC and the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
While the name has changed, the project’s scope, partnerships and commitments remain the same. LTEC continues to represent the development of a nationally important piece of transmission infrastructure that will strengthen Mozambique’s power network, support economic growth and expand access to reliable electricity.
Establishing the LTEC identity reflects the project’s continued progress and its long-term vision, as work advances to develop this critical infrastructure.
We look forward to continuing our work with partners, stakeholders and communities under the LTEC name, as we help power progress across Mozambique.
